My guess is electric. I'm pretty sure the blue discs behind the wheels are the electric motors. Also, there is no radiator in the from grille. Another hint is the "EV" in the name, which usually stands for "Electric Vehicle".

They use a relatively new battery designed by US company Altairnano Inc called NanoSafe. These batteries are more user friendly because they are more thermally safe than conventional batteries wich use graphite, last way longer (12+ years vs 3-5 years) and retain some 85% of their capacity even after 15,000 charges.
