x2 I'm wondering the same thing.

The only thing that I really collect these days is lossless music (FLAC). I am pretty much done transforming my entire mp3 collection into FLAC.

Vinyl>CD>FLAC

I am no expert on digital formats, but once you rip something to say 128 MP3 you can't then re-rip that MP3 file to flac, so bottomline, not sure there is any benefit to converting a MP3 database to flac.

If you talk to the REALLY hardcore 2-channel audio guys (like controlit, josh) most will tell you nothing has the SQ of vinyl. I think controlit finally found some 15k CD player that he says is pretty close.

I didn't literally mean I converted it. I just got FLAC versions of all my mp3s.

Also, isn't FLAC of the same quality as CDs? I didn't think anything would change considering it's digital and FLAC is 'lossless'.

Definitely watches, but also books (original edition and new stupid books alike) and old furniture (although I'll skip the baroque shizzle, I really can't get into it). I'd love to get me a couple pianos ... always wanted a player piano and a grand piano, old photography gear too! A bunch of old stuff, basically, I love to see how things have evolved.
