$537 ar?

My buddy just built this for $537. Wow that's dirt cheap.

The complete lower is $119, complete upper $384, 3 mags $34.

AR prices have dropped drastically in the past 3-4 years. Building on your own is definitely the way to go if cost is a factor.

Downside to the PCF lower is the plastic LRPK. The trigger sucks badly and if you change it out they void your warranty. All that being said, if you are comfortable shooting it then knock your lights out. We sold a decent bit of them the first 6 months they came out then the problems started building up and we dropped the line. Too much hassle to deal with as a business.

Hmm.. The guy that built it said he researched and found few people had problems with the plastic lower. Maybe he had his blinders on cause of the price?

NOTE: This is not my gun. My AR is a standard DPMS upper/lower.

SoCal is an unknown quantity at this point
I prefer Rock River, but DPMS is a great manufacturer too.

I don't really have a preference. I've shot a few ARs a little (most of my friends in tahoe have one) and mine a decent amount. But I'm really not good enough or shooting frequently enough to worry about performance. I just want something reliable that I don't have to dick around with, so far so good with the DPMS.

We'll see if this friend has any reliability problems with the plastic lower. Really though it's not plastic that makes something reliable or not, but the engineering and manufacturing.

My old Rock River Entry Tactical was a piece of shit. Much better brands out than them.
