To clean or not to clean
Hey guys,
To bring up a slightly controversial topic, I would like to hear your theories on whether cleaning a gun is necessary. I have heard both sides of the story from professional/competition shooters. While I personally clean my guns religiously, I would like to hear your ideas on the topic.

I have to clean everytime I shoot, whether it's 5 rounds or 500. Can't stand storing a dirty firearm. 'Hearty' guns like Glocks/H&K's likely don't need it, but, IMO, finicky 1911's probably should be cleaned everytime a round goes through the barrel.

Exactly I own 2 Glock 19's you could not clean them ever and they would still fire. I also have Remington 870 Police Magnum and the Sig 556 pistol these are all bullet proof, but all my Kimbers and 1911 variants I used to own always needed to be cleaned every time.

^Spot on. My last Glock 17 which I sold to my cousin was cleaned maybe once in a year and a half and it wasnt because I was lazy I just loved running the shit out of it and watching it keep going. My 1911's and AR's get cleaned after every range trip.
