To clean or not to clean
#14
I clean mine just about every time, pistol wise. Rifles, like my SIG, no, especially if I only shoot a couple hundred rounds. When I tore mine apart after my 1000 round Wolfe ammo day, it was barely dirty. My Spikes M4, after every range day.

To clean or not to clean, that is the question. Lol, no seriously though, I shoot an over/under shotgun for skeet and sporting clays, and clean it about every 600-800 rounds. It isn't harmful for the gun, and I use powder for my shells that burns cleaner anyways, so it really doesn't matter.
In this case, however:
I can understand cleaning your carry gun every week. If cleaning your gun makes you feel better as it may be more reliable, by all means go for it. I'm not trying to discourage cleaning your guns frequently, I'm just too lazy to do it
