Skeet/trap questions

Skeet/trap questions
There's a nice range near our weekend home that has skeet and trap shooting........looks like a lot of fun. I've got a fair collection of firearms and shoot quite a bit but my only shotgun is a Benelli M4 and I haven't shot a clay pidgeon since I was a kid.
The wife and I stopped there today and watched the action. The guys there were very friendly and gave us a quick intro to the sports. Even let us try a few shots (it's not as easy as it looks........wifey did better than I).
Now I NEED a shotgun. Any recommendations? I know....what a question
From what I gather there are differences between a trap or skeet gun but I would like to start with one gun to do both....afterall you're just shooting clay birds right? I've heard the autoloaders have less perceived recoil which is nice. I've also heard it's very important that the gun fits you properly........this is where the wifey's gun might be a challenge....she's barely 5 ft tall.
What should I be looking at? I like quality so spending a few extra bucks is no big deal. Benelli, Beretta, Browning.......? I noticed all the guys shooting today had over/under guns. Maybe that's a clue to the direction I should be going?
Anyone know any good shotgun shops in the Seattle area to look and get "fitted"?
Here's some pics from the rifle range on Saturday. The wifey trying out the OBR and LWRC M6A2........she likes 'em

I use a Weatherby SA-08 and an older Centurion. Don't do trap/skeet much anymore, but I prefer an auto to a over/under setup.
No reason you couldn't use your Benelli. The barrel is a bit short, but with the right choke tube it should work out fine. I'd try an improved modified or modified and see where you need to go from there.

Budget... Remmington 1100. You could even go for a youth model and change out the stock/recoil pad for a proper fit.
Kriegoff k80is a nice over under and with a tube system you can shoot 12,20,28 and 410.
