Thanks man, that would be awesome. I have seen a few of the representative images before, but without seeing an actual through the scope picture it's hard to get a feel for how heavy the crosshairs are, how big the center dot is, how far in the heavy posts extend, etc.

Once again, very nice build.

It's still raining outside, not the best lighting for a reticle shot... bear in mind, a camera doesn't do the glass clarity any justice whatsoever. This might give you an idea of what you will see when looking through the scope; again, can't make out the green dot so well, this either my photog skills (lacking) or the camera.

The lamp is 95 yards, the power is set to minimum (5X)

Still on 5 power, just cropped the photo

SoCal is an unknown quantity at this point
I'd say for everything, it is at least $5k. Building a wicked setup isn't cheap...

Neija, that is great, thanks!

Through the scope pictures are certainly tricky, but they sure help a bunch when trying to get a feel for how the reticule looks.

So it looks like the green dot is pretty small which is nice so that it doesn't cover up too much of the target, is it even smaller then the crosshair thickness? Do you feel the crosshairs are too thin or thick?

The green dot is actually adjustable in brightness/diameter, by an adjustable ring over the fiber optics, which illuminates the dot in daylight. At night time, the dot is powered by tritium.

The crosshairs are actually perfect

If you don't already know how to use mil dots, get "The Ultimate Sniper". It has the clearest, most-"layman" explanation.

That's a nice rig. Any reason you went .308 vs. .300 WM? These days there are several dedicated calibers that shoot really flat to 1000m. I'm guessing it's the "ease of ammo" thing, but just curious.

Once you get the scope dialed in, I'd like to hear what you think about it.

Managed to get out today... about an 8 to 10 mph crosswind, 65 deg., 3000 ft. My first two groups at 100 yards, measured with a laser range finder. The scope is very nice Chris; It took me a bit to get used to the parallax, but once I did, everything "fell into place". I felt like these could have been much tighter groups; as Russ said, at this point, its not the weapon, its me.

The fun factor does reach 10 on the meter, I don't have any complaints about the build at all. I went with the .308 for the "readily available" ammo. I know 300 WM would shoot flatter, faster, etc... I just don't ever want to be stuck up at the cabin with no ammo in the box, and none on the shelf at the local mom n pop store.
