My humble collection of Sigs

My humble collection of Sigs
If my previous posts in this section didn’t make it obvious that I liked Sigs, this one should leave no question.
I didn't intend to start a collection of just one brand, but I just kept finding other Sig models that I like better then the other options on the market...
Here is my Mosquito .22. I purchased this primarily so my woman could come shooting with me and have fun without being intimidated. My P226 was just too big/heavy for her to handle. I thought she would like the smaller Walther P22 but she liked the Mosquito better and is excited to keep improving with more practice. Put another 275 rounds through it this past Saturday and it ran great. It has just under 900 rounds total through it now and it has run very well. I fed it CCI Minimags for the first ~400 rounds (Sig’s recommendation) and have lately been using the Federal Auto Match (AM22) that can be found at Walmart. The extra trigger time has also improved my shooting with my other pistols, very pleased with this little $300 gun.

Here is my P226R Elite Stainless in .40 S&W. I love the wide grip as it fits my large hands very well. I also wanted a full stainless frame, and really like the beavertail, checkered front strap, tritium night sights, and of course the SRT trigger. The rosewood grips are nice but the black grips are "grippier". This pistol has been absolutely 100% flawless for over 1500 rounds. Not a single hiccup of any sort from day 1. Not even anything that would be typically passed off as break-in, magazine, or ammo related. Everything I have loaded it with has fed, fired, and ejected so reliably I pretty much take it for granted now. I keep this one with the TLR2 light/laser mounted and the +2 mag loaded up as the primary home defense pistol. It is very accurate, and the extra mass makes it a breeze to shoot. Unfortunately all that weight makes it feel like depleted uranium when trying to conceal carry for extended time periods, so that led to my third pistol purchase (below).

Here is my P220R Carry in .45 ACP. It is slightly shorter then the P226, has an Aluminum frame so it is much lighter, and a single stack magazine so it is also much thinner. Although some may still consider this too large/heavy for a conceal carry pistol, it feels like a featherweight compared to my P226. I prefer the DA/SA trigger and all 3 pistols have the same controls so I never worry about fudging it up at the wrong time. Only a few hundred rounds through the P220 so far, but all have also been flawless just like my P226. No frills on this one other then the tritium night sights.

And here is my Sig 556 rifle in .223/5.56. This is my do everything rifle. I primarily use it for fun at the range, but also take it hunting occasionally and would like to attend a Carbine class with it as well since I know it will run great even when dirty. It took some effort to finally get the accuracy where it should be, but through about 1000 rounds it has also ran flawlessly with everything I have fed it, even some cheap Wolf ammo. This thing slings brass about 20 feet when it ejects.

It is a bit nose heavy, but the UBR stock helps balance it out and the vertical foregrip makes it easy to handle. I love the ergonomics of it, the factory trigger is awesome, and it shoots very smoothly. I currently have a Burris Fullfield II 3-9X illuminated scope mounted which is great for all around target and hunting use. I will probably pick up an Aimpoint to swap out for any Carbine classes I attend. About the only evil black rifle I would pick in place of this one would be an LWRC as I have shot my buddies quite a bit and it's awesome, but I still prefer my 556. Also pictured is a Vickers sling modified with an HK front clip to attach directly to the gas block. This is the best sling I have found since it is very simple, quick adjusting, and it doesn’t have extra straps hanging off everywhere.

That's it for now, hope you enjoyed the pics.
