Question Looking to pick up a 5" 1911 for the range - Para, Kimber, Wilson, Ed Brown, others?

Looking at these so far:
1) Para Todd Jarrett edition

2) Kimber Team Match

3) Wilson CQB

Any suggestions?

That's a big can o' worms, Mitch. What are you looking to spend? Do you want a modern 1911 with updates or an old hardcore one that cycles poorly but is authentic? Country of manufacture?

Chokeu2 is very happy with his Taurus PT1911 and the gun has received great reviews.

I was at Bullet Trap last night but got there late. I wanted to shoot the PT1911 and a few other pistols just 'cuz I had the itch to buy something. I was hoping to get back today but got slammed at work. I may have some time later in the week. . .if you're free daytime any day this week we should go shoot some different guns.

I also liked the feel of the 4" XD-45 but I feel like it's a sin to buy a fake Glock. Also liked the FN 9MM, the Beretta PX4 Storm.

What's your budget?

Of the 4 you listed, the Ed Brown or the Wilson would be my choice. I would also suggest Nighthawk. My favorite 1911's have been Nighthawks.

I did certainly open up a large amount of options here. To be clear, I want a modern 1911 with match characteristics. The gun will only be used at the range. Only gun on my list that I have not shot yet is the Para TJ edition. The Wilson is my favorite so far but I have heard some amazing things about the Para. I'm thinking that I would like to keep this investment under $2k but would consider going a little over if the right gun came along.
As for hitting the range, I was at BT today from 3-5pm with a buddy who just bought a G23. Great shooting gun for $475 but I don't foresee one in my safe anytime soon. AJ, I will be around this week so just give me a call and we can go dump some brass.

Back to the topic here, has anyone checked out Les Baer Guns? I like the guarantees on them. The LB SRP has a guarantee of 1.5" groups at 50yds. That is pretty amazing.

I have no experience with that gun but you can't say anything bad about Les Baer.
