Looking to stay under $150. Oregon does allow automatic deployment, so long as it isn't concealed. Having a clip visible would satisfy this requirement.

x100 on Benchmade. I've never seen a company stand behind their products like Benchmade.

$150 is going to be tight for an auto. Benchmade can get pricey pretty quick depending on what line you are looking at. Have you considered the Kershaw assisted openers as well?

^ Did you not read my original post? I commented on my price range, and that I previously had an assisted spring Kershaw. You most definitely can get a Benchmade automatic for <$150, I know that's not a problem. Granted, it's not going to be their flagship stuff, with the highest grade steel. However, my uses for the knife are moderately intense at best, so I'm not concerned. I was just curious as to peoples opinions on the company, and whether any alternatives were worthy of consideration (at the same price point).

My buddy was carrying his military (Marines - Embassy Security) issue Benchmade automatic this weekend, and it sold me. If the military deems it worthy, I don't think you can go wrong.

Yes, I did read your original post, but it had been a few days. I think I might have confused what you meant by "auto". When I read auto, I normally think auto - OTF, and of all the auto - OTFs I've seen, they have been well north of $200. However, if you meant auto-opening, then yea, their blue and black line will be more than sufficient. The only thing I'd suggest is an axis lock with using S30 for the blade. I'm a big fan of S30 because of its ability to retain an edge.

^ Ohh, I see. Nope, I don't need an OTF, just an automatic deployment in general.

I've been eyeing this one:

14210 Details | Benchmade

Axis locking, drop point blade, and adjustable clip. I just hope I don't lose it . . .

Not bad, but try this one:

6150 Details | Benchmade

I think this has a better handle and blade. Yes, it increases your budget by ~100 bucks, btw, you can buy these online for some really reasonable prices.

They make good stuff. I also really like ProTech...
ProTech Knives - Custom Automatic Knives
I can lend a hand if you decide to go that direction.

Secure,

I found this Benchmade available online for ~$110 (plus shipping). I'm looking for ~3" blade, automatic deployment, plain edge, drop point, carry clip for a similar price range - pitch me something equivalent . . .
