Can't go wrong with Benchmade, right? I have yet to replace my Kershaw assisted spring that was my everyday knife after my car was broken into. Stopped by a knife shop today and talked to the guys about a replacement. My criteria: automatic deployment, relatively slim profile, ~3" blade, and under $150. From what I understand, Benchmade makes a damn good knife, and their HK line would satisfy my needs well. I think I'd like to handle the thing before I buy, so I'm hesitant to order online. Comments or suggestions? |
I haven't checked lately to see if Gerber makes any automatic deployment knives but I absolutely love my Gerber Evo. Benchmarks are nice too though. |
Gerber is based in Portland, so it's a good option. They make great knives, but like you, I'm not sure they make an automatic deployment. |
Lots of great knife-makers, but definitely can't go wrong with Benchmade. |
^ Given my criteria, is there anything that pops in your head? |
There is a great custom tactical knife maker called MerkWorx. MercWorx - Handcrafted Custom Knives - Made in the US They are the best. Bar none. After that, I would look at Blackhawk knives. http://www.lapolicegear.com/blbl.html For the whole panpoly of options . . . http://www.lapolicegear.com/knives.html |
The Blackhawk stuff is within my price range. Do you know if they offer comparable warranty to that of Benchmade? |
What price range are you trying to stay within, and your automatic deployment makes me wonder. Is Oregon a state that allows autos or do you have a permit that grants you permission for autos? |
This is the best tactical knife you can buy in the world. It is not auto deploy though. All tacticals should be judged against this beauty. MercWorx - Product Detail |
my friend keeps a machete between the drivers seat and door of his car... |
