Russ just reminded me of something... If your buddy can get a 416 upper (or complete gun) for less than $4K, I'm interested in that, too. If we do a pistol group buy, I'll list those later. Right now a long gun is at the top of the list.

I almost picked up a Kimber Desert Warrior today.... It was in my hot little hand, but my wife (ever the paragon of good sense) suggested I get rid of the two non-customs I have (P228 German and an original G21) before buying this one. I'm not a collector, just a shooter. Anyone in the northern VA area wants a screaming deal on a very nice P228 or Glock 21, let me know...

How about LWRC SABR?

I am down for that.

He'll just have to ship the lower to a CA FFL, and upper to me.

Bullet button will have to be installed on the lower for me to legally assemble the upper and lower together.

Many FFL's in CA have been making a killing this way. Like me paying 2K for my Sig 556 Holo because most CA FFL don't want to deal with it.

If this is too much trouble, my MIL lives in MD, and it should be a simple thing.

I am in the market for a Sig P220, dunno if there will be enough interest for a group buy, but you never know...

FWIW, H&K are bringing a civilianized 416 and 417 (MR556 and MR762) to the US market later in 2009. They are going to manufactured in NH w/German parts. Not sure about interchangability with AR types (stocks, grips, etc.). I'll still take the LWRC, B.

Haven't they been saying that for years? Why would H&K do this now with the push from the current administration to renew the AWB?

It's already released in other parts of the world as the MR223 & MR308. The uppers are NOT interchangeable since the pins have been moved - do not ask me for details on the logic other than it has, and we've been told to live with it...typical HK cs ah?

The MR556 is expected before the 762, which should be later this year...assuming Th3 0n3 doesn't butt fawk us.

See below. Maybe it was just to get the NH mfg plant up and running...

The pin thing is to satisfy German export laws. I don't care too much about upper/lower interchangeability, I am more concerned with putting a Magpul or SOPMOD stock on it, etc. Let's hope the price isn't stupid.

Anyone have any ideas on the MR223 and 308 pricing?

B,

Does it have to be a specific rifle and barrel length? I doubt you will get 10-15 people who will all agree on a LWRC model and length. Also, the SABR and A3s haven't started shipping yet, correct?
