I'm gonna get two SABRs one for me and one for my dad. Do you guys have any recommendations on barrel length? I'm thinking about doing an 18" with a acog and a laser, although I wondered if anyone was doing the 20? Want something to split my 16" 5.56 and 24" AI in .308

My dad just wants a basic SHTF so I was wondering do you think he should go 16 or 18?

keep in mind were talking all 7.62 here

Don't forget to PM Brian so he can officially count you.

Two SABR, hmmm, I don't think the mrs would go for that.

The minister of finance over here essentially said I could only get one new toy for the time being and the extra ammo to feed it. Hopefully my profits are up later this year and into next year because there are quite a few more toys I want...

I would think for SHTF, you want mobility.

Having practiced clearing rooms at home with both the M1A Scout and the Sig 556, I can say that the shorter 16" barrel Sig 556 is much superior for this job.

And since it's 308, even at 16," you still got more velocity and punch than most bad guys can hope to ever survive.

16" if you're killing zombies indoors.

I have a sig p556, and a bushmaster 16" ar-15 for killing them indoors. I'm looking for 150-350 yards possibly even a hunting rifle if need be. Basically anything short of a dedicated zombie sniping missing, but longer than a close range assult. I want to pick off a zombie at 200 or 300 with an acog type of thing. I'm leaning towards an 18" but I'm wondering if it's worth it with only an acog.

I think that we've hit the number.

I'll have a price list today I believe. And I will forward it to all of you clowns.

The longer barrel will provide more velocity. I can't speak for 7.62, but on a 5.56 chambered rifle, you lose about 170 feet/sec going from an 18" to 16" barrel (shooting XM193).
