The Bushmaster is a good rifle and will make a fine plinker/range toy. Just know that it's chambered for the .223 Remington (can't shoot 5.56 NATO), and that the buffer tube is commercial spec (if you want a different stock for it, get a commercial spec or buy a mil-spec buffer tube).

For the price of that particular rifle, I'd recommend you spend the extra $100 and get an LMT. I can't speak for Doublestar.

D'stars a good guns for the money. Frankly, it is more gun that most will ever use. Remember that the rifles that our guys are using are done by the lowest bidder... They do not have the add on goodies, and upgrades that we have the luxury of having on at the time of purchase; and they liberate country's with those.

That said, don't forget that you have options...
Here is an outstanding deal:
It is an AR variant by DS Arms (who makes AWESOME FN variants)
This thing is Tacti-cool for $1095

Or, here is a Stag from Atlantic Firearms for $1150. (Stag makes parts for Colt BTW, and Colt puts a $400 premium on their rifles, at least, for no extra value aside name)

Both in stock at the time of this posting.

Stag-15L with A.R.M.S. #40L

Both in stock at the time of this posting.
I love my Stag 2T... you have to be careful when ordering one. The "L" in the model numbers designate "left", obviously for left handed shooters (safety is on the right, release on the left, etc...)

LOVE IT

Damn, double star ALL GONE.

Maybe the Democrats are just talking about gun grabbing to try to stimulate the economy?
