1911's are great guns,. I have a very nice Kimber. However, a single action semiauto with a 3# pull or less, seems like a bad idea for a newbie asking for advice. Just my$ $0.0001

Chris, I'll definately let you know when I'm ready.

I definately want to use it, my main reason for buying one would be to go to the range and practice. The NRA range is only about 20 mins from my house and I already have a range card there, so going once a week would be no problem.

Thanks for all the advice.

I always vote 9mm Glock for a first gun, but Chris is definitely the man - just keep an eye on your drink at all times!

Id say this you have to be no more than 12 inches away from the target but it should be a great beginners gun.

Then after you master ^^that one^^ you can get this one.

when you fire a shot on the 21 is seems to 'twist' and leave the gun off of the target. i dont care much for the plastic either.

ive been told on the sig, that they are not available to civilian purchase. never checked into it though...
