What I don't get: if he could pay 5 millons for the car, why didn't he pay the taxes?

Haha, I thought the same thing, all the planning and building along with the major cash outlay was already done

Rich people are cheap, I know I am, and $2M is $2M. I wouldn't skirt the taxes, but that 80% luxury tariff is a bitch.

The tariff sucks, but if it was in place when he ordered the car shouldn't he have factored that in to the cost? Definitely an odd story
