VIDEO: Matt Farah Drives The Hennessey Venom GT
#27
For me, the problem really is the pricetag. The Venom GT first and almost exclusive appeal is its speed. It doesn't have the jewelry quality and detail of a Huayra, or the ingenious technicality of the Agera, or the engineering depth of the Veyron.
The Venom goes fast, and according to Matt Farah, it does that very well and very dramatically. But as The Doctor pointed out, a properly built twin-turbo Aventador, or even Gallardo or Ford GT (or R8, GT-R, etc) will go just as fast just as reliably, and it'll give you the same adrenalin rush for a fraction of the price. One million is a lot of money. For that, you can get an endless number of hypercar exotica with the name and speed to match. However well done, the Venom doesn't have the appeal of most of those, at least not for me.
That said, I like the Venom GT; I really do. I think it's awesome that someone took the idea of modifying a small, lightweight car to the absolute extreme, and I wish Hennessey all the best.
