I think it's a very cool car for what it is and it's accomplishment however I find the comparison between this car and Bugatti based on HP, Top Speed or similar statistics is like saying wine that comes out of a box is the same as a wine sourced from an exquisite vineyard and vintage.

It's just stupid.

This is just a tuned car like Ronin's.

The level of engineering to accomplish something like the Veyron is several times this in terms of people, design, engineering and money. Also I don't see many people in something like 30 years bidding for this at an auction but they will for a Veyron.

Good stuff, John. Thanks for posting. It's good to see you guys making progress on this stuff.

I've been curious, but forgot to ask in the past. You source the bodies from the same factory that produced Elise/Exige bodies, right? If so, now that they're not making them anymore, how does that impact your production? I'd hate to see you guys stop pushing out Venom GT's because of Lotus's mishaps.

While we dont use very many Lotus parts in the final product, we do not have any issues getting parts from Lotus. They have been good to work with and have been helpful to us.

If you ever need an Elise for parts I'll trade you for a prototype. I don't want to be greedy and ask for a full production model.

I know I'll never actually have one, but as a Lotus owner I'm in love with the idea of what you've built. The few reviews have been very positive, especially with the handling (you had enormous shoes to fill in that respect.) Good job!

Note: The Hennessey Venom GT design is based on the Lotus Elise / Exige. The Venom GT is created from a base Lotus Elise / Exige and utilizes components including but not limited to the roof, doors, side glass, windscreen, dash, cockpit, floorpan, HVAC system, wiper and head lamps. Hennessey Performance and the Venom GT are not associated with Lotus Cars.

Hopefully all of those can be swapped out with other parts from other manufacturers. My biggest concern is the structural elements (not necessary the HVAC system or head lamps).

I'd just hate to see the Venom GT not exist anymore (from a continued production standpoint) because of Lotus's issues.

It's not like all the exiges of the world will burst into flames if lotus goes down. Just buy old ones.
