Issues with the MP4-12C?

Seems so:

McLaren issues

I'll give them one thing, service has been superb - someone from MTC came to look at my car, then they and the dealership got onto it asap. Its irritating, but with a new car (in this case a new brand) this kind of thing is forgivable in my opinion as long as they're efficient sorting it out....

At least it didn't light on fire after driving it hard I'll just leave that there...

Italian cars are supposed to catch on fire.

OP, that does sound a little rough, but be glad they take it very seriously. I wish McLaren the best.

As the guy on PH says, i wouldn't mind if something went wrong if the customer service was impeccable, as it seems to be with McLaren.

They seem to be going a step above Ferrari, Lamborghini etc with the CS.

Awesome to see them addressing it so well... and that nothing has caught fire so far.

More developments:

First Week with Mclaren

This chap is getting rather pissed with all the issues and has offered the car back to the dealer. Real shame. Even though they're dealing with the issues well, it must be frustrating to buy a £200k car and have so many small niggling issues with it.

Interesting bit from that thread:

Everyone getting an early car with no IRIS NAV gets the whole £5100 back which also includes the 7 speaker meridian sound system, then gets the upgrade for free when it's ready
Again, very good response to a bad situation by McLaren, but still would have been better to delay launch by a couple of months more and give people the car they deserve.

The only concern for me would be the 1000 miles to my closest dealer
