Talked to one of my dealers today that saw it in the UK this past weekend I believe and he had nothing but awesome things to say about the car!

Not too sure what the suspense and mystery are about. We have been looking at this car for 2 years now. Not much of a real mystery there.

Unfortunately for me, I can't help but see the obvious Lotus Elise underneath everytime I see the car. But I will look forward to seeing some serious performance comparisons on popular tracks with Porsche GT3's and Ferrari 458's, and a few rigorous examinations as to quality of materials and construction. All the rest is just market hype.

>$750,000 for a Lotus Elise with body kit and new engine?

You forgot the new space frame chassis and new suspension. The "body kit" is aerodynamically designed for drag and downforce.
So probably 90% of the car is new.

I think it turns the already good looking Lotus into an amazing looking car, something more original would be nice. That is probably the only thing that will deter people to what it truly is. Just like the Iconic AC Roadster. Insanely high quality and performance, but people just see it as a replica.

Hopefully there will be a successor with a unique body. Now that most of the engineering has been done for this model they can focus on styling next time(just like SSC).

Let's see,... For the price of just one of these Lotus Elise/Venom GT's (>$750,000) I can buy a completely new Ferrari 458 AND a completely new McLaren MP4-12C,... AND a completely new Porsche GT3 4.0L!... AND still have enough money left over to buy that 'super expensive' looking Lotus Elise!

Yep, I'm completely convinced!! Nothing strange about this Elise/Venom GT in any way.
