Final Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Sold
#16
I wouldn't disagree with this sentiment however we know that VAG was building the Veyron at a loss but I wonder how much of the difference was made up in licensing for die-cast models, prints, etc. Even though the car may have been produced at loss it has become an icon and benchmark for VAG which can be priceless in the future.

^^^ Not right actually. Supersport was included in the production run of 300 Veyrons, they'll build a bit more than 30 cars in total, latest rumors are that 38 Supersports are going to be produced. Also all limited editions, one-offs and so on are included in the 300 units production run which is now completed, basically ALL Veyrons except GS are included.
Sales of GS are going very slow, only 40 are sold at the moment and few pre-ordered, they were going to slash prodution run to 75 from 150 units, and while sales are not improving seems that there will be only 75 GS Veyrons at best.
Galibier is going to make its way to the production, the showings of the car enjoyed the success, expect it to appear as a prodution model in late 2012/early 2013. They'll need a new model because the tiny number of GSs are not enough to run such factory.

Bugatti is going to make a successor for the Veyron.
They have a new Chief of Design, Dirk van Braeckel, who used to be Bentley's Chief of Design. I don't know when this new model is going to be produced, but they are working on it.
