Has anyone pointed out that during the "Car" magazine test they found that the MP4 had a hydraulic leak in the suspension. After it was fixed it was sent out again and posted a time of 1:27.7 against the 458's fastest time of 1:28.30

 

Any such supercar comparison tests must be conducted within certain test perimeters to preserve any validity and integrity for such a test. The later McLaren lap time claims were made using a different driver, at different times of day with different track temps and conditions, and without any supervision or verification by CAR as to the actual setup of the car during the new lap times.

I am glad that this additional info was provided,.. And I probably do believe these newer McLaren results, but the new McLaren results cannot be said as to be part of the actual CAR mag test in any way.
