Post 458 - EVO magazine Performance Test.

In Octobers edition of EVO magazine UK there is a Performance and Track test of a 458.

Here's some of the there recorded results;

0-30 1.6
0-60 3.2
0-100 6.8
0-130 11.0
0-160 17.5

1/4 mile - 11.2 at 128.8mph

100-0 4.0sec 342ft

Total weight - 1546kg

Front - 42% - 649kg

Rear - 58% - 897kg


Bedford Aerodrome West Circuit;

458 - 1.20.3
Murcielago LP670-4 SV - 1.21.3
430 Scud - 1.21.7
Gallardo LP560-4 - 1.22.5
Carrera GT - 1.23.3
GTR - 1.23.6

That's pretty crazy fast. I'm crossing my fingers that the new McLaren can beat it though.

Those are really impressive test numbers. As Alex posted, I am waiting for comparison test with MP4 too.

There seams to be a cross wire in the figures, 0-130 11.0 seconds but the 1/4 mile which peaks at 128.8 is slower at 11.2 seconds. I get this magazine every month and I only noticed it after a client pointed it out!

It will be tough, Ferrari have made a very good car here I think.

I believe the quarter mile trap speed is measured in the last 60 feet or so, calculated by how quickly it covers that final distance. The car is actually traveling faster when it crosses the finish line in 11.2 seconds. At that point, the 458 may be going 132 mph (or whatever).

10 bucks the MP4 won't beat the 458 !
