1000BHP Escalade beats 2011 Nissan GTR
#31
FYI, we ran the GTR against the TT Escalade 4 times. The Escalade won all 4 times. The video we posted on YouTube was the closest of the 4 races. This video was not produced to make the GTR look bad. We just thought that it would be cool to show how well this vehicle performs and the GTR seemed to be a pretty good measuring stick.
Yes, a modded GTR would beat the big SUV. We upgrade plenty of GTR's and there is no question which vehicle is the superior performance vehicle. But show me any other street driven SUV that runs on pump gas, is completely quiet and comfortable that can beat a GTR in a drag race.
As far as reliability goes, we build and ship 5-8 vehicles each week. Most of them are in the 500-700 hp power range. Each one of our vehicles comes with a warranty on our upgrades. We also build about 20 vehicles each year with 1000+ hp. Camaros, Vipers, Corvettes, Ford GT's and an occasional SUV like this one. Our 1000 hp builds come with a 1 year / 12,000 mile warranty limited to the items which we have upgraded. We own the 1/4 mile dragstrip next to our facility, Lonestar Motorsports Park, which has about a 1.4 mile long driving loop. Each vehicle that we build gets tested and signed off by 3 of our employees (tech who built it, QC manager and finally our GM or myself or both) before it is shipped. We built and delivered over 300 vehicles in 2010 and only a handful of them required any service or warranty work after delivery. Which we took care of promptly
Our HPE1000 Twin Turbo Escalade has and entirely upgraded drivetrain including transmission, converter, drive shafts, axles, diff as well as suspension, big Brembo brakes, wheels and tires. No it's not going to beat a GTR on a road course. However, given its size and intended use (big, comfy Q-ship with lots of room for people and stuff) it has the braking and handling performance to balance it's straight line power and performance.
Finally, when we ran this race, the Escalade was on low boost. We set the low setting on the boost controller at about 9 psi (800 hp at the motor) so that the owner could run on 89 octane fuel if 93 was not available. He lives in eastern Europe.
Thank you for this opportunity to tell you a bit more about our HPE1000 Twin Turbo Escalade. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Have a great weekend.
PS and one final comment. Hennessey Performance has over 30 employees and operates in 2 locations: Texas (30,000 square foot shop with adjacent test track on 143 acres and Southern California (currently 4,000 square feet and new 10,000 square foot facility will be open next month). We take our business very seriously. As such, we spend nearly $10k per month on all kinds of insurance. Half of our insurance cost is for Garage Keepers liability insurance. Our policy covers up to $500k per vehicle and up to $4m for the total contents of our facility (we usually have 40-50 vehicles in our care at any given time). Thankfully we have never had to use this insurance. But we run our business right and have it in place as that is just good business. I will tell you that the majority of automotive aftermarket companies DO NOT carry this same level of liability insurance. I am not trying to call any other shop out or put anybody down. I am just trying to point out that we going to the greatest degree of care to make sure that our cars are built well and that our clients are happy and protected just in case. Thanks again for the opportunity to tell you a little bit more about who we are.

Wait a minute. The Ettore Bugatti Veyron 16.4 has 987 brake horsepower, and this has exactly 1000. Wouldn't that make this the fastest car in the world? I feel like this isn't true because the fastest car in the world only has 987 brake horsepower.
Therefore I feel like the video is fake.
