That's far more than the old one.
But the original car was heavily discounted because it was ugly.

There's also talk of a full carbon tub chassis for this new car versus a chromoly frame for the last one as I understand. All these improvements start to add up.

Yes, carbon chassis, carbon wheels. Whether people like it or not, this car came to play with the big boys.

Do I feel bad for not being more "supportive" of SSC's, especially since the company originates from the state I currently reside in?

Yes.

Always have, and now I'm feeling even worse because of many reasons, but most of all because of their persistance to create such a machine in a world seemingly againsed them at all odds. Perhaps I'm wrong about this company. They do deserve my respect. I haven't met anyone from the company personally yet. Perhaps someday in the future, I hope.

I do like the new design. Quite a bit. I wish I could be more supportive from a financial (customer) perspective, but Zeus ain't doin' so well in that department these days... Anyway, before I get all mushy here and go off on one of my long rants, rep to SSC, neg-rep to Zeus.

Glad to hear you've seen a bit of the light Mark. Come late October maybe you'll want further first hand experience ;-)

Probably will not run up to that figure, but considering the last SSc was around $650 000, you can probably bet that this model will be around $800 000 +-. Still a better deal than the Super Sport. but if it was up to me about choosing betweent he Two. I'd still ahve to go for the Super sport and fork over $1.5M. The SS is still the better looking of the two and you can be european Engineering.

I'd almost certainly take the SSC in this case. It just looks so wicked!

The old ugly car is gone, if now we can get silversurfer to not act like a fanboy, SSC will be on track.

I must say I am a bit impressed with this car considering it has a cf body and seems to feature a whole lot of brand new technology. It's definitely more allround than its predecessor and looks like a supercar is supposed to nowadays.
However I wonder how hi-tech and up to date the engine is. Daily driveability and reliability are still questionmarks for me.
