SSC Ultimate Aero II: First Photos Of America's Bugatti Fighter

There are a lot of questions raised in your last post that I just am not at liberty to answer because it would jump the gun on our plans and reduce effectiveness.
I can discuss your comment about the USP. Why Coke, Pepsi, RC Cola, or generic Cola? They all have an appeal to the buyer. As I stated above, SSC produces a driver's supercar. We broke the record to put ourselves on the map, but as I noted above the Ultimate Aero is an amazing all around performer. We'll be highlighting it's other attributes moving forward. In the supercar realm, Pagani, Koenigsegg, Bugatti, and SSC all have their niche.
Just a little confused as to why you regarded the top speed record as irrelevant then suggested beating by a large margin as a way to place ourselves?
Regarding your last line, thank you.

Hi guys sorry for not been around for a long while... ( lots of personal stuff going around).
But to the subject. WOW and major props to SSC in lifting the ante up and by a lot. I believe that the new car just looks great and with all the potential for a timeless masterpiece.
Also like some members pointed out, the fact that this is a manual gearbox car at this stage of the game were all manufacturers are looking for microscopic intervals between shifts, it is great and almost a miracle that there are some people that care more about the feeling that creates a proper gearbox.
Junus welcome to the team, I believe SSC has done a great job can't wait for more info as this car keeps on developing. Only one observation/question. I can't resist to notice the circular vents on the front and back they look great. But , how more or less efficient are they than the typical vents you see on other hyper cars? I am no expert on aero but for some reason I get a feeling that some kind of pressure could form in there. Like I said this can just be a stupid observation by a non aero expert and most likely you guys have done all the wind tunnel work to ensure the best free flow possible.

@Renovatiopr
Thank you, and I hope all is ok.
The vents design is for two reasons: function and form (in that order). The circular shape accelerates the air (golf ball effect) and it's unique instead of the standard vents seen everywhere else. This approach was used for the entire design. Jason Castriota is phenominal at designing a car with function and performance as the number one priority.

My hat is off to Jason Castriota.

Going back to this whole top speed lark. Yes I realise the mechanical and aero benefits of having a car that can reach mega speeds but as a for instance, would the breaks on a car capable of say 210mph be any less powerful than ones needed on a car capable of doing 270mph?

That could be tricky as Clarkson is well known for his anti American car views and his love of the Veyron. But hey, I would not expect SSC to take a knife to a gun fight

Unfortunately, I can't provide an exact date, it's all part of us building the excitement, etc. When I have info and images I can provide to TS I'll make sure to post them ASAP.

It's not as much of an issue of power as it is composition. And in this regard, absolutely. The heat index created from braking at those speeds is exponentially higher. In order to have brakes that not only perform, but can perform repeatedly and consistently is the engineering challenge. Since we're once again entering the unknown a lot is being done to verify. It's funny that you mention brakes because they're one component that changes exponentially with speed. It's been one of our big challenges moving into this project. Great question.
@ss7
It'll just be a matter of time, we're about 12 months away from pre-production prototypes. We're also looking forward to having them run the finished product.
