Post Pagani C9 could finally make it to the States

"Pagani is planning to homologate the Zonda's replacement, the C9, for the United States. Its twin-turbo 6.0-litre V12 motor and automated manual gearbox will meet 2013 California emissions regs, and will be Euro 5-compliant.

The Zonda was never made available in the US because it did not meet the country’s EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Pagani is expected to launch the C9 at next year’s Geneva motor show.

Horacio Pagani, the firm’s Argentinean founder, told media in his native country that the C9 would be powered by a 690bhp, 737lb ft version of AMG’s 6.0-litre V12 engine.

Pagani also said the car was a completely new product in terms of design, weight, distribution, materials and dynamics, and revealed that it will feature 3770 new parts. The chassis will be carbon-titanium, with electronics coming from Bosch and specially developed tyres from Pirelli. Production of all one-off and special-edition Zondas will end next month to gear up for C9 production. Pagani aims to build 40 units per year at a cost of 900,000 euros (£785,000)."

The Zonda replacement was always going to be U.S. legal, that was the intention right from the start.

Now all that's left is the little matter of the 1.5 million dollars to buy one.

Of course it does, it's a test mule. I have no doubt that the production version will be a game changer
