New fastest car on the planet - Caparo T1

Is the KTM X-Bow a car?
Is the Ariel Atom a car?
Is the the Lotus 2-Eleven a car?
If you have to have a roof and a windsheild, then what about the road legal versions of GT1 cars like the CLK GTR, 962LM, 911 GT1, F1 LM, F50 GT, etc?
Seems like a strange opinion to have, that's all.

1) Full blown, high-strung race engine that has an extensive pre-start-up routine, frequent rebuilds, etc - try driving it in traffic for any length of time....
2) Suspension designed more for "aerodynamic grip" as opposed to "mechanical grip" - I wonder how many cars could take a "Cloverleaf" roundabout freeway entrance faster? I'm pretty sure there are many. Its grip really does not start working until above 100 mph. Below that, understeer city....
3) REALLY low ride height - you cannot take it anywhere
The list goes on and on. Is it an amazing car with unbelievable performance? Yes.
Are there other cars that could be driven faster by drivers of almost any skill level on public roads? Yes
Is there a car that can be legally driven on the road that goes faster around a racetrack? No. However, you can buy a Porsche 956/962 that has been made street legal that probably is faster around a racetrack and marginally easier to drive around town.
The T1 is a mixed bag of tricks. I love it. It makes no sense. I love it.

That video was exactly what I was looking for......
Your completely right, it isn't a car...its a missile. But once you get to your destination its only as good as a missile when it gets to its target; all stripped down and in bits and pieces.
Find me a Veyron or GT1 that does that.

You may be surprised that this car is driven everyday as a road car, and is reliable! We are along way down the road now from the days of the first top gear showing. I think the extra 200BHP only confirms it as the fastest track car, and engineering tweeks and set up adjustments make it surprisingly good on the road. ill get some new videos up soon! :-)

judging from reviews/vids this is definitely the fastest track "vehicle."
I agree with everyone who thinks that it really isn't a car. I mean, people complain about the impracticality of having a GT2 or a Scud or a Zonda F as a DD... this thing would bring the complaining to a whole new level.
At least those other cars have doors, a passenger seat, windshield, roof, trunk (kind of), etc... No doubt is the T1 an amazing piece of engineering art, but i dont think it goes much further than that.
