What? Not a V12? What can it be? I can only imagine it to be a V10 or V8 and then probably with turbo's. Since AMG doesn't have V10's my guess would be the M157 V8 twinturbo (685bhp) and the only reason I can think of is to get this car road legal.

V8 AMG is very viable.
For some time there are rumors of a legal Zonda variant for the US, I think this could be the spearhead of a new project. I remember, if I understood correctly, Alejandro Salomon @salomondrin (Huayra 730S owner) said in one of his videos (in July) that Zondas might be legal in the US in two years.
Time will tell.
