The Art Of Horacio Pagani
#312
The chassis and body will be made of reworked carbo-titanium, even more stiff and light, weight is rumored to stay at the same level with Zonda F, thanks to the use of this material. The style of the body will be different from Zonda, but anyone who knows how Pagani looks will recognize the Pagani imidiately. As Horacio told himself the style clues will not be taken from Zonda or any other supercar. He told that the design is developed from the clean sheet of paper and some inspiration was not from Sauber race cars, but from some beautilful jets, this means car will be totally different from Zonda.
The engine is rumored to be V12 bi-turbo M275 engine from SL65 Black Series with slightly more than 700 hp, it will be mated to 7-speed sequental gearbox, but after Cima unit was much criticized, there are rumors about specially made ZF unit. This engine is already specced for more powerfull F version of C9, but only few people know the specs. The only problem which I see is if they will be able to make this car so delicious to drive as Zonda was, this engine was had recieved much critics and to my mind is not so great for light supercar, so I wonder what will be the solution to make it suitable with Pagani, also wonder about transmission, because this engine has monster torque, guess we need just to wait and see.
C9 will feature active aerodynamics, different system than on 458 Italia, but the same idea for weight saving. Interior is rumored to be not so wild and to be good for all safety homologation process because Pagani want to sell this car globally, but also inside the car anyone will imidiately recognize Pagani again, absolutely bespoke style without any borrowings.

v12 amg bi turbo scares me a little, heavy motor, the turbo route is natural these days (ferrari making the move, mclaren coming with a v8tt...) but they should keep a hi rev engine with smal displacement TT not the heavy v12.

I wonder myself how Pagani will manage to combine lightweight chassis and body with this rather heavy and not high-revving engine, there are many open question still, espeacially about trasmission. But if the rumors about Pagani C9 launch are correct we will see this astonishing supercar at Geneva auto show next spring and will have all questions answered.

Thanks for the info D55L...
My vote would be for a lightweight chassis and a N/A large displacement yet high-revving V12. But I can't wait to see what they do with this engine and a couple of turbochargers.
