Serious question for anyone that watched the post-game interviews: The ESPN article about the game this morning has multiple quotes from Lebron. Every single one has "I," and none have "team.". Did he talk about the fact that he was on a team at all?

 

Are you serious? It's over. New day has dawned. Everyone was classy on both sides.

 

Charles, I think they pulled the quotes they wanted. LeBron talked a lot about team and coming together and group effort and stuff in his post-game, as well as the acceptance speech for the MVP. Obviously he talked about himself and at the end of the day he had to look himself in the mirror and get it done. But he did a pretty good job with the speeches. Definitely showed a lot of growth.

 

It was serious. As a casual fan (not hard core at all), and having a baby with teething issues last night, I didn't watch the game or post game. As such, I read an article on ESPN. And the only quotes in there from Lebron were about "I," "myself," and "me." I was curious if it was really like that or if it was media-driven. All the quotes in ESPN from other people included "we," "us," and "team." I later read a Washington Post article that was very similar. From Steve's post below yours, it sounds like it was media driven.

Here's one of the quotes: "It was a journey for myself All the ups and downs, everything that came along with it, I had to basically figure it out on my own. I'm happy now nine years later since I've been drafted that I can finally say that I'm a champion, and I didn't shortcut anything. I put a lot of hard work and dedication in it, and hard work pays off. It's a great moment for myself."

So, that's where I was coming from. I wanted to find out the whole story before making judgement, as I don't believe everything I read. From the sounds of it, there is nothing to see here and the media is just making controversy to sell additional papers, etc.

 

Well, he definitely said those things.
