The Miami Heat is on!!

I said MJ was the GOAT. I said I wanted to build my team around Magic. MJ may be greatest player of all time, but Magic was the greatest team player of all time. MJ is/was an egomaniac and a real a-hole in practice and the locker room. MJ made others better out of fear, Magic inspired everyone to be their best. Both players led teams that were dominant in their respective eras. Which team do you want to play on?

I don't doubt MJ would be the man in a single game, a single series, etc. But Magic would be the glue for YEARS of dominance. No knocking MJ - I don't think there will be a better basketball player than him. EVER.

Why not? He could (and did) play every position, could score, could create, could defend. Not only that, but he could lift the team around him. Jordan was phenomenal, but basketball is a team sport and I think Magic was better at doing "team".
All this reminiscing is going to make me go to YouTube and watch some classic Magic and Jordan...

What's interesting about this chart is that LeBron had to change teams in order to try to get a ring. Jordan took a shitty Bulls team and turned them into a dominant force. And let's not forget a certain Zen master in that mix...
