So happy for Chelsea tonight. Chelsea showed so much spirit throughout the CL this year. They were hardly ever the best team in any of the games, but they never gave up and in the end it paid off.

Good game by Bayern, it's tough to lose on penalties in a final.

huge congratulations to my Chelsea brothers, it was a deserved win for the season we had and we showed spirit and character. well done lads! it was meant to be, it just had to happen, i never stopped believing and told you guys we can do it.. CONGRATULATIONS

thoughts:
1. yes BM had the ball and yes they created 37 or so chances but that was RDM's doing and imho he knew what he was doing.
the goal went in when Ashley Cole (who was incredible, sensational, just unbelievable) dozed off for one second letting muller climb on him from the back.

2. as a chelsea fan, i was more anxious because i was the defending side, but despite the on-target shots BM were missing on the clinical touch and the players they had on the pitch could only have missed that for one of two reasons: they didn't step to the plate when it counted or that chelsea were doing the job

3. jupp made a huge mistake and i was ecstatic when he pulled muller out more than when torres went in. i soooooooo fvcking knew it and torres got us the corner that led to the goal. torres got the ball from our half and either reached the box or got us a foul. torres was a reason we survived the extra time and a reason why we won the trophy

4. RDM definitely had a plan, and he stuck to it, and it paid off, and nothing should be taken away from his achievement. both teams deserved to be in the final, both teams had different tactics, both teams went on knowing what plans A, B, and C were. to try and make it about defensive/attacking football is just unfair in my honest opinion because we all know the suspensions on both sides and the odds stacked against both teams and the momentum created/lost for both teams. no one could have even dreamt of writing it in a way that set it all up more beautifully and dramatically

5. bastian broke my heart, i was absolutely gutted for him and i was so close to shedding a tear for him. wow, just incredible and i really hope his team and fans support him .. i am still so sorry for him and extremely proud of how drogs went to him (and robben) and spent 2 minutes with them cheering and consoling them. love what sports can achieve even over tv

6. 88 min header, 5th and final penalty, 9 cup finals, 9 goals, drogba could not have made this up himself

7. losing ribery was just unbelievable. hope his leg is fine, but wow jupp must have known it was over when he saw him limping off! olic did everything and he had a great chance but the speed and width BM had was just shot down and that allowed lampard to drop back and just pass the ball easily to mikel or torres

edit: watch guys, one of the BM subs/staff had an AP Bumblebee on when he went to Bastian after the PKs !!

I'm stilll gutted and I can't help feeling like in 2004 when Greece won the Euro. Still, Cech went to the right side 6 times out of 6 penalties. How the F is that possible?

 

Munich was so alive before the game, and so quiet after. my god, last time barca, now bayern, I just hate Chelsea so much

Seriously, I'm happy for the fans of Chelsea on here. I know how much you guys love that team, and it's been a pretty incredible end to the season for you.

All we're getting out of this season is the amazing pride of finishing 3rd and probably losing our best player again.

 

I told you guys Thomas Muller was the catalyst... you mocked me. The only reason BM lost was because he was yanked for Van Buyten.








(and because BM can't take penalties for shit)

 

The reason Bayern lost was cause non of their big time players showed up. They had so many chances and all Bayern could muster was 1 Muller goal....terrible conversion rate.

 

How could they let that knucklehead Robben take the penalty?
