Congrats on 10,000 Strebo!
Ludas, I like Barca for several reasons. One, half of my wife's family is from there, she used to live there in the early 90s and loves the city, therefore the team for "us" is a natural fit. But more importantly they've been home to many of my favorite players over the years even before I met my wife - probably my favorite historically being Rivaldo - but I've always been a fan of Brazilian, Dutch and Spanish players because of their playing style, which is how my brothers and I grew up playing and idolizing. Barca (and Arsenal) have had many such players and coaches and I'm naturally drawn to that.
I'm loyal to those 2 teams whether the popular sentiment of them moment is love or hate, and whether the current squads are good or bad, winning or losing. I know tons of people hate Barca right now, but who cares? It's easy to hate a team that consistently beats you. Nobody hates Racing Santander...

There are people that hate Racing Santander, for example Athletic fans and many people from Santander that happen to be Real Madrid supporters. If you watch a match between Racing and Real Madrid there, in Santander, 80% of the people go with RM. So lame...
Every team is hated by other team.

Valid point. Ok, with the geographic connection I can see why you like Barca and also in the historical context. I used to like Barca myself when Ronaldinho was still playing (or rather dominating). I still think in his prime he was the most amazing player I have ever seen, including Zidane and Messi.Anyway, I will lay low for a while with the hate band wagon. I just really needed this after so many years of Barca dominance. It doesn't happen very often.

fat ronaldo is easily one of the best 3 footballers of all time
if he was at his prime in today's world, with the media and twitter and such, he would be 2x as large in people's minds
rivaldo is a great footballer too of course but i lost all respect for him since that crap he pulled at the world cup vs turkey.. but hey, he fits a barca shirt well

I remember that time when Ronaldo Nazario played for Barça the Sports Newspapers in Spain went nuts and the front pages used to read: OUT OF THIS WORLD! MARTIAN! (in spanish).
