We looked like we were going to get crushed in the first 20 minutes, but then things settled down. I think the second half we were the better team, but the winning goal never came.

I think Chelsea needs to concentrate on the CL and staying in the top 4 this year, while rebuilding with some new players (either in January, or the summer). It's obvious at the moment that this team doesnt really have an identity under Villas Boas.

 

I agree athletes in general probably get the chance to cheat more often than most people. But I would disagree that it's the norm to cheat with your brother's wife.

 

i think ramires was the weak link yesterday, he missed two clear chances and although i admire his ambition his shots were never threatening.. unlike romeu's last strike which was beautiful. man 3yrs ago the last thing you would have to worry about with chelsea was midfield because you knew essien's got our backs

chelsea's main concern should be the defense, in other words no john terry.. yes, he saved us twice i think yesterday but his on/off and inconsistency should not be kept up with at this level imo. he should've been kicked/let go when he was worth something in the int'l market
i understand there is no one else to sub for him, unlike what AVB has done with Lamps (which i think is a step in the right direction)

i don't see chelsea winning the champions league this season without being extremely lucky to do that, we need a rock solid defense and none of the BS of conceding goals in the first 10 minutes! it has happened WAYYYYY too many times already

avb is building a team that is departing from mourinho's, let's face it we are still the spine of the 2005 team he created.. i honestly think if given time he will be very successful and we can win a lot of trophies with him

11pts is a lot of distance to close, esp by december.. but it is the epl and i am a believer

 

okay, wow.. how the hell did we luck out and stay 4th?
man city's draw kept them at the 11pt diff, if it were 14 by the new year i don't think there would be ANY chance .. now there is a thread to hang onto.
arsenal drawing today also kept them 1pt below us

chelsea need to unleash all their might against villa on saturday, we need to pick up momentum again.. drawing 3 games 1-1 in a row, give me a break, that's like losing 2 matches back to back!!

 

I've given up hope for this season, I'll be happy if we stay in the top 4 and make the Champions League again next year. Tottenham won today, they'll probably win their game in hand, which will put them 7 points above us, and at no point this season have we shown that we can close the gap on anyone, the gap just keeps getting bigger.

I think it's just a matter of time before Arsenal pass us, and maybe even Liverpool.

If I was Roman I would be doing everything possible to get Jose back, he's ready for a Premiere League comeback and we need him. Don't get me wrong, I like AVB, but he's not showing me anything new from week to week. The team is not growing and getting better, we are getting worse.

If we stick with AVB, then we need a massive clear out in January and the summer, and a huge buying spree. At that time though it might be too late if we aren't playing Champions League next year.
