Ha Ha! It is when they take a piece of ligament out of your hip and transplant it into your elbow.

It is an AMAZING procedure but pitchers are never the same.

Poor Strasberg - the kid you were referring to with the Nationals - had to have the surgery. But he still looks like he will have a decent career.

The first guy to ever get it was named Tommy John. He pitched for the Yankees - and other teams - in the 1970s and early 1980s.

That sucks for him. There was tons of hype around him when he joined the Nationals.

 

Yeah, I felt so bad for him. It sucks to have the world at your feet (arm) and suddenly have to hit the brakes.

 

So back to soccer: Chelsea sucks.

Isn't cricket as well? I remember being in Durban for three days and the same game was on TV three evenings in a row. On the third evening I went down to the bar later on and some of the players came there to relax after the game. I asked one of them if they had won but he said the game rained out so they had to keep playing the next day as well

And how glorious that would have been! Sweden in third place, one of my very strongest childhood memories.

I'm not 100% sure, but you are probably right. Cricket seems to go on for days, then all of a sudden somebody wins. I used to play when I was young, at boarding school in England, but I dont really remember all the rules, or if there was some sort of timekeeping.
