The problems at Chelsea come from Abramovich, it is in his nature to get what he wants, when he wants it, he doesn't wait, he wants it right now. As much as I despise both Chelsea and Manchester United, over the past couple of seasons Chelsea could have and should have learnt from United on how to gradually introduce new players to replace key players in the current team.

If Chelsea had of brought in players to shadow the likes of Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Cech, Cole and learnt the 'Chelsea way' then the change would be gradual and much more successful.

What AVB attempted was too much too soon, yes, Chelsea needed to prepare for the future but they tried to change it overnight.

I'd suggest that Abramovich buys himself Fifa 12 and tries to come up with a new team for Chelsea on there and then go out and buy them in real life.

I was thinking back yesterday to when they had Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez. It was obviously killer then, but seems insane in retrospect.

 

At the time being, it was a huge mistake getting rid of Tevez but look at all the drama he has caused in City. Thank god for SAF and for not letting anyone, and I really mean anyone, be bigger then the team.

 

I agree in part, we should have transitioned slowly, AVB was never given the time to see what he could do with "his" team.

I dont think you can blame anything on Abramovich though, without him we wouldnt even be close to where we are now.

Well obviously Tevez is a big baby, but when he actually plays he gets it done.

But yeah, United has thrived because of that team first mentality, even with mega stars. Arsenal has not because we haven't had anyone who could be bigger than the team even if they wanted to!
