I just remember 4,000 people in the stands AVERAGE the year they yanked the franchise.

 

Florida's turnout to games is just pathetic.

 

I used to be an avid supporter of Pete Rose getting in the Hall of Fame as a player. He deserves to be there. But I gave it up. the guy really is a disgrace in all aspects of life except for when he was playing. He was a whole different person then. I have a Pete Rose autographed black Mizuno bat with his hit total on it that is awesome. I also have a Pete Rose signed ball, hat, bobblehead and picture. They were all given to me as a gift years ago. The bat I like, the rest are pretty much worthless.

RIP to the Rangers fan from last night. That was awful.

And Montreal will definitely not get another team. I have done a lot of research and reports on the economics of baseball and stadiums/arenas and it would make more sense to put another team in NY or LA than in any other city. It is all about market share....most specifically TV market revenue.

 

Oh and one more thing. I have always hated the Yankees with a passion (a concession stand worker once refused to serve me at a Yankees home spring training game because I wore an "I hate the Yankees" shirt), but I am happy to see Jeter get to 3000. He deserves a ton of respect. A great player and a class act if you ask me. He defines what a Yankee SHOULD be imo.
