I didn't defend Pepe, nor said what he did was right. He should be punished, that's for sure, and no one can in their right mind can defend what he did.
A player like him is making the club look bad, as much as Messi made Barca look bad when he intentionally kicked the ball towards the Real Madrid fans in the Bernabeu, as well as when Busquets called Marcelo a monkey and when David Villa insulted Ozil for being a muslim.
And of course, I don't think all the diving and acting contributes to Barca's classiness, does it?
Look at the club you support before preaching classiness, and don't get too carried away.

Pepe is a disgrace for this sport and should be banned forever.
But that doesn't mean Barca's players are all saints. For some of their acting on the field they deserve an Oscar.

I think both teams lack a lot of class. And for me that's one of the reasons why I will never appreciate Spanish and Italian football as much as Premier League and Bundesliga.
For example, whenever the ref makes a decision against Barca, the entire team runs up and surrounds him with complaints. I hate that.
In England and Germany at least players show some respect for the refs and concentrate on the game instead. La Liga and Serie A has too many drama queens for my taste.

I think my friend put it quite nicely; Todays el classicos is all about what the game should NOT be about. Diving, chasing the ref, foul play etc etc. The only reason I like watching these games is because you know that someone is always going to fvck up and embarass themselves, be it barca or RM I don't care.

Good point. Tbh I don't remember that Chelsea started it when RM came there but I don't doubt it one second. The Classicos used to be a highlight in the football world and great PR for Spanish football. Now it's more of a disgrace and I hardly even enjoy watching them any more.
I don't see Mourinho taking over as coach for ManU after Ferguson like so many thought when he started in Real. I think ManU wants someone with more class than that.
