I'm sorry, but the 1st leg against Chelsea was embarrassing for me and should have been for any Barcelona fan. To have so many chances squandered and then to go to the Camp Nou and not put EVERYTHING into the match against RM, is unacceptable. Barcelona needs to beat Chelsea into oblivion at the Nou Camp... Anything else and its a disappointment.

 

great points by all, the first leg against Chelsea was disappointing for chances squandered with lamentable finishing i truly believe we"ll see a heartfelt performance tonight because Barca are ruthless when they're hurt. And the performance against Madrid hurt even more than the result because Barca seemed to have no answers to Madrid's display granted that wasn't helped by the line up. Playing Adriano in a 3 man defense was suicide also i cant understand why you'd use Iniesta up front, dont get me wrong he does a great job but if he isn't in midfield Barca seem to loose a lot of their precision in ball circulation. I think Pep has a problem with Pique's attitude and his level of performance has dropped considerably this season. In my opinion the main reason behind Barca's second place finish in La Liga this season is Pique. He was instrumental in the 6 titles of 08/09 and he has been amazing in the following two seasons however we all know success breeds complacency so Gerrard went jet setting across the globe with pop star girlfriend Shakira and his performances and level of commitment dipped accordingly. If Barca line up in a 4-3-3 with Alves- Mascherano- Piquet _ Puyol - Busquetts - Xavi - Iniesta - Pedro - Alexis - Messi and play like i think they do we're going to be in for one hell of a game. I haven't seen one hell of a game with Barca in it for years. Bayern - Real, that was a hell of a game. ManU - Everton this week, also one hell of a game. Barca doesn't play games like those because they dominate too much in possession and just pass the ball around sideways for 90 minutes. Obviously the other teams can't do anything else than park their bus or private jet in front of the goal and defend for 90 minutes.

Barcelona might be the best and most dominating team, but their playing style makes all their matches extremely boring.

Fun is when to teams are equally great and there is excitement and chances on both sides. That is something we will 100% not see tonight.

The other thing I cant stand is that every other team is in the wrong when they play Barca defensively. The press calls it anti-football, etc, but I dont agree with that. If you find an effective way to counter what the other team is doing and it gives you a way to win, then it's great tactics.

 

I'm not sure what matches you guys watch. But when Barca is playing at their highest level and passing the way they should be, it's one hell of a exciting match... for a fan of Barcelona.

I guess if I was a fan of the other team, as you guys are, I would say Barcelona's style is boring, since my side never has possession.

In any case, your opinion that Barcelona's style of play is boring is exactly that, a opinion. I will venture to say that many people around this world disagree with you.

 

I like to see an open, competitve game....not just one team passing it around for 90 minutes like a training ground exercise, and that's what I tend to see a lot of when I watch Barca.
