I have done this once, but I was the bad guy. I had 4,4 in BB I checked preflop with three players. Flop came 4,A,8. I checked, Check behind me, and half-pot bet from the dealer. I call, middle position folds. Turn 4. I bet enough to get a call/raise he called. River was an A, I bet he went all after some consideration and I had an automatic call. He had A,10o but needless to say it was a fun hand.

What about in the WSOP 2008 some guy was put out with quad A's while the other guy was holdin the royal flush, now that is a bad beat !!

been there, done that. That is just a stroke of luck for him, you obviously played it correctly. UGH

 

Last weekend I played at the Tropicana in A.C. At the 2/4 limit game next to me, someone lost a straight flush draw to quad 4's. He ended up winning the bad beat prize for almost $60,000, and everyone at the table won around 10g's!

 

I've been beat with a "sure thing" by 4 of a kind, it always hurts.... Welcome new guys!
