They work fine but they will smell up real bad within a week and wraps are alot cheaper to throw away and also allow you to tighten up on any trouble spots.

I don't know how I missed this!

But I will say this. Gil's words on wrapping your paws is GOSPEL. Well done Gil. It is shocking to me how many people work the bag and forgo wrapping their hands. That is pain and injury just waiting to happen.

Great guidance on Fairtex, and Everlast. Here are a couple of others.
Boxing Equipment - Boxing Gloves - Boxing Gear - Ringside

MMA Gear, MMA Gloves and Training Equipment | Combat Sports International

I've done a lot of biz with Ringside in the past, over the "known" MMA/Martial Arts equipment sellers in the past simply because the customer service from Ringside was exceptional. And their prices are good too; bolstered by excellent selection.

Oh!!! One more thing!
Be careful if you go with 16 oz gloves. While their great for endurance, you can become complacent with the amount of "cover" they give you. If you go to a comp where they use 12 or even 14 oz gloves, you will let some shots through that would have been blocked by the 16's.

Nothing wrong with 16's, but I have avoided them for that reason. 14 is a very happy medium.

Gil yours are a bit pricey for me to start with, I have to buy a bunch of gear at the moment. (But I will invest in better gloves like yours eventually, no doubt.)

Are these crap or decent?

I will most likely not be doing all-out boxing w/serious head contact. Just training with light head contact and lots of bag work and body contact.

By the way, Dave, got your email but been very busy and it warrants more attention for a reply so call me at your leisure.

Also, don't worry about the gloves so much if you wrap properly. You can get good gloves for $50 so long as they are genuine leather because the fake stuff will cause more cuts. Grease up around the cheeks and eyebrows as well as jaw line and nose and ears.

Thierry Sokoudjou is owner of the Team Quest gym I'm training at now, and he gets great deals from his sponsor, Title. Got a set of the gloves like his and will see how it goes. Guy has BIG fists! Maybe not as big as Gil's but way bigger than mine.
