What a glorious way for United to start the new season! Comprehensive defeat of Chel$ki with goals from Valencia, Chicharito, and Berba... Berba's chip was perfect.

United looked sharp, sometimes a little shaky at the back (though Van der Sar was stellar), but the midfield and attack looked solid. Between Rooney, Berba, Chicharito, and Macheda, United have some good front-line options. Plus Park, Nani, and Valencia all looked dangerous.

Finally, Scholes looked as good as he ever has. Crisp passing, great ball maintenance, etc. Deserved Man of the Match (though I'd through Van der Sar in for a shout, too).

Poor Chelsea... their only goal was on some scraps when they flooded the box.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to starting off the season with a demoralizing victory over "top 4" competition, just like the one today.

 

Didn't get to see the match, but looked like Man U bossed it, AND Rooney looks so much more comfortable in a red shirt! Hernandez-Berba partnership is being hailed over here at the min also!

Generally just really looking forward to the start of the new season! As a Liverpool fan, intrigued as to how we'll perform and not many sterner tests on the opening day than Arse!

I think Sir Alex fired a rocket up Berba's ass over the summer. He played with much more purpose. Chicharito is a little rough around the edges, but Sir Alex has a way of turning guys like that into world-beaters (ask C. Ronaldo).
