THE NBA Finals Thread - Lakers vs. Celtics
#532
Once again, I was hosting a dinner event for work and missed a majority of the game FML. I did see Rondo's steal to ice the game. It looks like the Lakers will really benefit from 3 days rest with no travel. Sunday's game is going to be an epic battle and I will be watching it and bantering with you all during the game. Go Lakers!!!!!

^^^ Nail on the head E... I think the rest is HUGE for LA, Bynum might actually sit game 5 so he is fresh and rested for tuesdays game... I still am afraid to see what happens if both teams play GREAT on the same night.... Congrats!

The key points to me in this series are as follows:
The Trio, or Quad - whichever, has not had one game yet this series, where more than 1 single player, has had an outstanding game. In fact, of the Quad, only 2 players REALLY made their mark (KG and Ray). Rondo is playing OK, but he is below par in comparison to the rest of this post season.
Kobe - While he has played well, he hasn't had his game yet either. Bynum has played unreal for the Lakeshow, and so has Fisher, but when is Kobe's game coming???
Overall, as a team - I will admit that the Lakers have looked like the stronger team. I think the Celtics were very fortunate that Ray was strong enough, nearly by himself, to beat the Lakers (not a Kobe breakout game however). Which is an unreal feat, but he WAS the answer that game.
Last night, I am shocked and relieved that the Celtics were able to pull that off. Even though the Celtics took it by 7, it felt more they took it by .5 .
I think what is going to come, for both the Lakers and the Celtics, is about to be hopefully the most epic final games of a series we have seen in the NBA in a very long time. I'm talking about a well-rested Lakers team, with Kobe anxious to have his 40+ game, against a well-rested, meshing Celtics team we've watched through most of the post-season.
Who wins? At this point, I don't care - I think I'm getting my moneys worth in entertainment alone.
This has been a blast guys - thanks to all who have participated here.

Hey Dynamic, aren't you the guy who wanted a Lebron Throwback Jersey as well as your a big Bills fan(seems to me you would be a Pats fan)? How does this all correlate to you being a Celtics fan?
Don't get defensive nor aggressive please, I am just asking a very basic and simple question.

Lakers looked flat. The fact that Kobe couldn't give his team any momentum with the back to back three pointers killed them. With Rondo having a tough time offensively, Robinson was key.
Say what you want about Boston's behavior Laker fans, but don't forget you've got Artest on your team. Boston showed heart.
How about that slobbering monster out there . . .
