THE NBA Finals Thread - Lakers vs. Celtics

Sorry, but that call did not decide the game. They ruled it came off of Gasol's finger, one image from the wrong side at the wrong time isn't exactly evidence. I would have called it Laker ball, but it wouldn't have changed the outcome.

while I do agree with you, that that call might not have changed the outcome of the game... since I admit the Lakers got outplayed. Doesn't change the fact that they blatantly looked the other way during a crucial point in the game. Lakers down 3, with 1:50 to go in the game.
Whatever, im done dwelling on the crappy officiating in the NBA. Lakers win Game 3, book it
GO LAKERS!

Well spirited of you. I was completely confused by the call myself, I think Van Gundy just about fell off his chair. I thought that once they went to the table, they might have deemed that the ball actually left the court with 2:00 to go, instead of the 1:59 that was displayed. This would have meant that the review rule would not be allowed to come into play.
I'm with you mate, bring on game 3!

Wow. I missed yet another game as I was busy MC-ing an Iron Chef style cooking competition last night. I will not miss tomorrow night's game. From looking at the box score, aside from Ray Allen's monster 3 point shooting display, you would think the Lakers won the game. Close rebounds, similar FG%, Lakers shot more FT's, Pau and Bynum had strong outings, Kobe was decent. This is shaping up to be a great series. Gotta give Boston their props for showing up and getting it done last night.

Rondo blocking Fisher and picking Kobe was classic. Kid can play ball. Still very unimpressed with Garnett's play.
Series should be interesting. Boston really showed something last night, absolutely looking like the better team.
A few of you guys should get a grip with the bitching about officiating

As I said after the game... the Celtics flat outplayed the Lakers. Its unacceptable. The Lakers need to bounce back in game 3. I believe the Lakers hope for a repeat rests in Game 3 on the road in Boston.
In order to defend their title, the Lakers are going to be tested. I wouldn't have it any other way. This is where champions and legends are born. We will see if the Lakers respond in the way they are supposed to. If not, the Celtics will take the series.
Go Lakers!

Also, I would like to see the refs swallow their whistles and let these teams play. I dont think fans of either team enjoy watching the game when star players like Kobe, Ray, Garnette, LO are all stuck on the bench. It takes away from the excitement of the Finals.
