Hadn't seen the chipper jones news, thanks for the update. I think the twins are legit when it comes to bat, certainly showed that this series, but their pitching is suspect to go the distance.

And I also agree that joe west is a big douche, he has a lot of control over game speed as well and did nothing to speed it up.

Vernon Wells hit his fourth homer in three games as part of a three-run ninth as the Jays came back to beat the Rangers 3-1 on Thursday.

Wells led off the top of the ninth with a game-tying homer off Frank Francisco. Lyle Overbay followed with a triple and scored the go-ahead run on Edwin Encarnacion's sac fly. The Jays later added an insurance run as Mike McCoy, who was filling in for Aaron Hill, singled in Alex Gonzalez. Wells, though, was the story again. He had just one homer and two doubles in 50 at-bats this spring, but he finished the series against the Rangers with four homers, seven RBI and six runs scored. Apr. 8 - 5:17 pm et
Wells always starts hot. Injuries will catch up with him though.

Chris Young will miss his scheduled start Monday with right shoulder tightness.

After his strong outing Tuesday, we suggested owners enjoy it while it lasted. But who knew that this was coming already? The Padres will move Kevin Correia up in the rotation to face the Braves on Monday. With an off day Tuesday, a fifth starter won't be needed again until April 18. If Young isn't ready then, either Tim Stauffer or Sean Gallagher will get the call. Apr. 9 - 4:37 pm et
Too bad for Padres. He is their only real stud on the pitching staff.

Jose Reyes (thyroid) went 0-for-4 Thursday for Single-A St. Lucie.

Reyes is expected to rejoin the Mets on Saturday and start against the Nationals, so it was probably his last rehab start. He played the whole game at short and has proven that he is ready for major league action with other recent performances. Get him into fantasy lineups Saturday morning. Apr. 8 - 10:47 pm
Reyes is so great. But he gets hurt too easily. When he is healthy, he is a true 5-tool guy.

Brian Roberts left Friday's game after one inning with a strained abdominal muscle.

This might be a DL-type situation for Roberts and a big loss for the Orioles. The team would likely call up Justin Turner if Roberts is disabled, though Julio Lugo might get most of the playing time at second base for now. Turner was better positioned to fill in back when Robert Andino was set to occupy a utility role. Apr. 9 - 4:17 pm et
Tough news for O's fans. Roberts is the spark plug in an improving team. Roberts, Markakis and Jones were becoming an offensive force.
