Dhinkle go look at Bernies playoff #'s and then tell me who was more important to the Yankees. And for the record I hate all Yankees including Bernie, I just hate how the world is on Jeters jock despite him not even being the best SS on his team.

And if a sports comment ever offended me I would have to commit suicide. Its all in good fun

Jeter was a WS MVP while Bernie never was. I have found that people that hate the Yankees also ALWAYS discredit Jeter and I never understood. He's a career over .300 BA while Bernie is close with .297 I think but close isn't there.

Look I am not saying that Jeter is not a great player, I am however saying that Yankee fans and tv announcers make him out to be one of the greatest players/top clutch players ever and I disagree.

And your spot on with Bernies BA

And for the most part Jeter's and Bernie's playoff #'s are similar with the edge to Jeter except for Bernie who has 80 rbi's vs jeters 49 in the same number of appearances

Great vote but he had only one great year with the Yanks but is in the top five for the A's.

I am not offended by Bernie's nomination. RBI's are influenced by spot in the batting order. I am a fan of Bernie's and would, without question, say that he is the best guitarist in the history of the storied franchise...

I also am not trying to bash the Bernie vote I mean everyone has an opinion so I hope you aren't taking anything I'm saying as "hostile" or anything. I feel like it kinda got that vibe

I didn't know this stat, or didn't put it together at least, and that is pretty incredible on BW's part...

As a die hard 28yo Yankee fan I cannot imagine any other player standing at shortstop. He's about all i can remember from back when I started watching them.

It's funny how non-Yankee fans have such a different perspective on Jeter. How can you even argue that he has not been one of the biggest postive influences on that teem since 1996. Class all the way and great leadership.
