I'm not talking about his public apology. It seems like you guys really don't know the entire story. The owner of the Eagles sat down with vick for hours and talked to him about the dog issue among others. The eagles owner is a huge animal rights advocate himself. Do you really think he would sign vick if vick wasn't really remorseful?

You guys seriously think he should be denied a second chance because of what he did?

How about you chose your words more carefully next time, instead of just throwing around bunch of BS.

P.S. I'm not Jesus Christ.
I think everybody is guilty of killing animals or help the process by eating meat or killing bugs to keep their house clean.

So even if you don't kill animals for fun, you definitely do it for your own pleasure/convenience.

Ditto.

People from India must think at us beef eaters as a bunch of POS too for killing and eating cows; something they consider sacred right?
Its really about how personally you look at it...
I love dogs, but ruining someone life over it and not allowing him to get it back? come on now...

There's a difference between 'killing' swiftly and humanely, and then there's outright torture. Now I suppose it's debatable if cattle are humanely treated and euthanized for our gastric pleasure, but I'm pretty sure they aren't drowned or electrocuted. I still say Michael Vick is POS and DOES NOT deserve a second chance because he can throw a ball. F' him.

Yep. Exactly the same.

Cows are not domesticated pets. Cows, chickens, fish, etc. are on this earth to feed humans. Cats and dogs are here to entertain humans and to provide companionship. Two entirely different scenarios. It would only be similar if the cows we eat were killed as a cruel gambling venture (i.e. betting on how fast the cow bleeds out, etc.).

Yes, NFL is all about business. If the owner thought he would be good for the team, in any way shape or form, it would not matter what Vick did in the past, IMO.

Nope, some people shouldn't get second chances.

To be technical about it. The human body can survive very (probably designed to) well by eating fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans and other things grown on the earth to get all of the necessary nutrients that the body needs.

The things found in meat can be obtained by not eating meat if you eat properly. Meat can be considered a short cut.

So what makes it okay to hunt, eat and kill the animals mentioned? Because it suits our current lives/lifestyles...? Or is it the method of killing that makes it okay...? Or is it that the other types of hunting/killing are approved because they are monitered/controlled, hunting for sport is legal... Why is fighting dogs for sport any different... How is hunting an unsuspecting animal and shooting it different from having two animals fight... ?

Not that i don't eat meat, i enjoy Five Guys just as much as the next guy.

________________

I take it if he shot the defeated/damaged dogs in the head with one bullet that would be okay...? It would be considered humane or more humane...?

I don't remember the reports or the entire story but i doubt he was personally doing the dirty work in regards to getting rid of the dogs... (so i may stand to be correct on that sentence).

He's being held accountable because he was the benefactor/money behind the operation, if i remember there were rumors that there were other celebrities and football players involved but he would not snitch and that was the reason for his sentence being as long as it was...
I remember watching Sports Center and Tiki Barber stating that *if* he talked he would never be accepted back into an NFL locker room again.
