Player Ratings: Getafe Vs. Barcelona

Barcelona dominated for most of the match against Getafe and Goal.com rates the players on show in the Spanish capital this evening...
GETAFE

Stojkovic 7.5 - Followed up his superb performance against Sevilla last week with another incredible display against Barcelona this evening and he was the reason that Getafe only lost this game by one goal

Cortes 5.0 - Got beaten by the Barcelona front men on plenty of occasions and very fortunate to not be booked earlier than he was.

Cata Diaz 5.5 - Solid in the centre of defence at times but often he got beaten by the pace of the forwards and couldn't compete with them.

Mario 5.5 - Made a couple of superb tackles but like his partner at the back, he got beaten by the pace and trickery of the forwards a few times.

Rafa 5.0 - Was given another chance to impress by Munoz and even though he got into the game more as it went on, he looked very uncomfortable to begin with and didn't deal properly with some crosses.

Polanski 5.0 - Too sloppy in possession and really didn't assert himself on the match as his coach would have wanted him to.

Casquero 5.5 - Much like many of the Getafe players, he didn't keep the ball well enough for much of the match but he did at least show flashes of his talent in the second-half.

Contra 4.5 - Had to be taken off at half-time because he had been booked and had been given such a torrid time by the Barcelona midfield and forwards.

Gavilan 5.0 - Not until late in the game did he actually impose himself on the game a bit and in the first-half he was completely anonymous.

Del Moral 5.5 - The hero when these two sides met the last time and he did work hard up front but never really got the service from those around him.

Soldado 5.5 - Like Del Moral, he worked hard and tried to frustrate the Barcelona back-line, but he just did not have enough of the ball to cause any real trouble.

SUBS

Granero 6.0 - Probably the best outfield player for Getafe this evening and one really has to wonder why he did not start, as he helped improve the team no end when he came on.

Albin 5.5 - No time to change the game and didn't really get the ball much.

Uche 5.5 - Didn't get to use his pace against the Barcelona defenders enough and that could have caused them some trouble.

BARCELONA

Valdes 6 - A spectator for virtually all of the game as he had nothing to do.

Alves 6.5 - Burst up and down the flank as he usually does but got himself a silly yellow card towards the end of the match and his frustration did not improve his performance.

Marquez 7.0 - Aside from one dodgy back-pass he was solid at the back and got a vital header to clear one of the few chances that Getafe had.

Pique 7.0 - Solid at the back all game and in most matches he would have had a goal to his name after a spectacular volley, but this time Stojkovic denied him.

Puyol 7.5 - Not only was he a rock in defence but he got forward a lot too and one has to wonder if he will continue to play at left-back as he really does look good there.

Busquets 6.0 - Booked for a needless lunge in the first-half and even though he put in a solid shift he didn't offer that much for his team.

Xavi 7.5 - Always available and always willing to get the ball and move it on. This evening he was at his best in midfield as he dropped deep to pick up the ball, came forward with it and found his team-mates.

Iniesta 7.5 - Like Xavi, Iniesta was heavily involved in the match this evening and throughout the match he looked composed, comfortable and always in control with the ball.

Messi 7.5 - Got the vital goal, albeit with the aid of a deflection, and even though he wasn't too spectacular this evening he rarely lost the ball, always looked to take the defenders on and was the best player for his side.

Henry 6.5 - Denied by a superb save early on and even though he was involved with a lot of the movement he failed to take his chances and make the final ball count.

Eto'o 6.0 - A very uncharacteristic miss at the end from the striker when he was one-on-one with the goalkeeper and this wasn't his best evening as he spurned a few other opportunities too.

SUBS

Keita 6.0 - No time to change the match.

Bojan 6.0 - Came on late in the game to run down the clock.
