Really? That's a pretty shallow statement. It's no different from someone in the UK rooting for the LA Lakers or the Miami Dolphins. I've been a ManUtd fan for a LONG time - at least as long as games have been televised on US television (since maybe the late '80s). FWIW, United hasn't always been good, but I enjoy their style of play, the players they attract, etc. Same reason I love the Lakers (though I grew up in LA). I remember back in the day, the only teams from English soccer on TV were Newcastle, Man United, and Liverpool. This would probably explain the large number of non-British fans that support those teams.

Quit being provincial and be glad some of us dumb Americans have embraced your national sport.
